One Ok Rock Concert

The One Ok Rock concert was on July 10th. I know I’m pretty late posting the pictures and I’m sorry. Just been having to deal with stuff here.

The concert was amazing! So much fun. The last concert I had been to was in 2008 and that was to see the Spice Girls. The opening acts for One Ok Rock were Palisades and Set It Off. I really liked Palisades. I wasn’t really into Set It Off but they put on a good show.

One Ok Rock really puts on an amazing show. So much energy. It was awesome. And I was so happy I was able to experience this with Victor. It was a really great night.

Clock Strikes by One Ok Rock

In one of my recent posts, I mentioned that I will be seeing One Ok Rock in July. I wanted to see them last year when they were touring with Five Seconds of Summer and Hey Violet. They came to Hershey, Pennsylvania. But at that time, we didn’t have a car and I couldn’t find anyone willing to go with me. I was very disappointed because I love One Ok Rock. They are one of my favorite bands.

I was excited when they announced they are coming here to San Antonio on their world tour.

I discovered them about a year ago while looking on Youtube for new music. The first song I ever heard by them was Clock Strikes. I instantly became a fan and started listening to other songs of theirs. I’m gonna share the song with you all that made me fall in love with this awesome band.

They are a Japanese band and some of the lyrics are in English and some are in Japanese.

Living in San Antonio

Sorry it has been such a long time since I last posted.

I’m living in San Antonio now!

I have been here for over a month and I love it.

We’re currently looking for another place to rent. The landlord called Victor a few weeks ago to tell him that he’s selling the place. We’ve got to find a place before August. So, we’re a bit stressed about that.

Victor took me to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 after it came out. It was great. I loved it.

I’m looking for more ways to make money from home. Hope I find some soon.

In July I will be going to see One Ok Rock in concert. I am so excited. Already bought the tickets. Cameras are allowed at the concert so I’ll be taking pictures.

Besides the stress of trying to find a new place, things have been good. I am happy here with Victor.

Picture of us from last month.

20 Years Of Spice Girls

In July 1996, the Spice Girls debuted with their single Wannabe. And since it is 2016, this year will be their 20th anniversary.

I have been a fan ever since I was a little kid and I can’t believe it is already 20 years. It seems like it was just yesterday I was a kid and seeing the Wannabe music video for the first time. The impact they’ve had on me, others and the world is just amazing. They inspired me so much and they still do. Together, and individually, they have accomplished so much.

I think some of the most important things I have learned from the Spice Girls are to always be myself and to never give up. I also learned from Melanie B (Scary Spice) to be proud of being mixed.

And I do think their influence on me shows.

I know there are people who don’t like them, who make fun of them and really don’t think they were good models for young girls. Were the Spice Girls perfect at the height of their fame? No. They were real. They were fun. And they had great messages.

Seeing them made feel me empowered. Honestly, it still does. They were five girls from different backgrounds and they were massively successful. I know it can be hard for women to find success in music, writing, acting, etc. But, you know what? They did it. The Spice Girls found success. They made their dreams come true. And if that isn’t inspiring and empowering, then I don’t know what is.

And the other day I was on a forum that’s for Spice Girls fans, someone brought up a fact I hadn’t thought of in a long time. It was the fact the Spice Girls have co-written all of their songs, even as solo artists. They were very involved in writing lyrics and I remember thinking that was so cool. I knew not all artists wrote their songs or were even involved in any way with the writing of them. I wanted to write songs after learning that. And although my writing hasn’t gone in the way of songs, I guess you can say they did kind of put me on the path to writing.

I can’t ever forget their message of Girl Power. And they lived it. They still do. They proved women can accomplish just as much as men and as a child, that really had an impact on me. If they could be successful, why not me? I thought.

I feel lucky to have been growing up around the time the Spice Girls basically ruled the world. The Spice Girls, their music, their messages are all a huge part of me. I have a lot to thank them for.And I am so happy to be celebrating their 20th anniversary

And I am so happy to be celebrating their 20th anniversary.

I don’t know if they will be doing anything this year to celebrate. I know four of them want to, but I think it has pretty much been confirmed Victoria (Posh Spice) won’t be involved.

I’ll admit that does make me sad. I know a lot of people have said she didn’t contribute much to the Spice Girls. I personally don’t think that’s true. And honestly, I think it is because of comments like that is why she doesn’t want to perform or even sing anymore. You wouldn’t believe how much – and how badly – she’s been bashed over the years, especially during her solo music career. I love her solo music. I love all their solo music. And I didn’t understand why people criticized her so much. I still don’t.

I don’t think she is really confident in her singing or performing anymore. I remember reading before the Spice Girls performed at the Olympics closing ceremony she had a panic attack. And during their reunion tour in 2007-2008, each girl had their own solo part in the concert. Victoria was the only one who didn’t sing a song, she did a cat-walk thing.

I really do think how harshly she was criticized has something to do with the fact she doesn’t really want to sing or perform anymore. But I really can’t blame her.

Victoria is a fashion designer now. A respected fashion designer. And I respect her decision to not do music anymore. If they reunite again, tour or even make new music – I really hope they do! – I will definitely miss her. She’ll always be a Spice Girl to me, someone who was a wonderful role model to a young girl and left a permanent impact.

I guess sometime this year they will announce what they are doing to celebrate their 20th year. With or without Victoria, I will always support them as a group and individually.

I will forever be a fan and I can’t wait to see could happen for their 20th anniversary.

Positivity Week Day 5: Ten Things I Enjoy

This is my list of ten things I enjoy in no particular order.

Writing – I’m sure this comes as no surprise. I love writing. It is my passion, it’s what I love doing and it’s what I’m currently pursuing. I want writing to be my career. It is what I want to do for a living and it is something I love doing.

Books – This is another that’s not a surprise. I love to read. Books are amazing. They help experience cultures and other things we might not otherwise.

Crafting – Though I make crafts for money, it is something I really enjoy doing. For me, it is fun and relaxing. And I’m always excited to see how the item looks once I’m finished.

Video Games – I have been gaming since I was around 5. I love playing video games. They are fun and often many have really good stories.

Paranormal Investigating – I have seen ghosts since I was a little kid. The first 10 years of my life I lived in a farm-house that was over 200 years old and I know there was something there. I’ve been a paranormal investigator for 12 years now. It is always interesting to see what you get when you ghost hunt and I find it fun. There is nothing like being out at night in Gettysburg with only a camera and digital recorder.

Blogging – I know I haven’t had as much time for it lately, but I enjoy blogging as much as I ever did. It has helped to improve my writing and I have met a lot of great friends through blogging.

Powwows – I think going to Powwows are so much fun. It is hard to describe the feelings I get when I am at one. I’d love to learn the dances one day and be able to dance at Powwows. I haven’t been to any Powwows in the past two years. Last year, it rained during the Muddy Run Powwow and so I didn’t go. When the next Powwow came up, I was not able to go because I’d hurt my ankle badly. This year because of all the financial problems I wasn’t able to go to any.

Movies/TV – I’m just going to count these as one since both are things you watch. I do really enjoy watching movies and TV. I love to watch things that make laugh or make me think or something with a really good story.

Music – Music is important to me. It is one of the things that helped me so much as a teenager. I still listen to my CDs whenever I have the time.

Travel – I enjoy to travel because it is nice to get away for a while. It is nice to see new places or go to your favorite places.

Chris Farley As Shrek

Today on Spike TV premieres I Am Chris Farley. It is a two-hour long documentary and being a fan of Chris Farley, I am looking forward to watching it.

With the documentary premiering, there has been talk about Chris Farley and some of his unfinished projects, one of those being Shrek.

I love Shrek. I love all the movies. And Mike Myers is wonderful as the titular character. However, I have always wondered how Chris Farley’s Shrek would have been.

I have read that he completed recording most of the character’s dialogue.

Probably three or four days ago some of Chris Farley’s recording as Shrek leaked and I found it on YouTube. I gave it a listen and although it wasn’t long, less than three minutes, it was really enjoyable.

I definitely think Chris Farley would have been great as Shrek. And as much as I love Mike Myers version of the character, it still makes me sad that we won’t get Chris Farley’s version of Shrek. I think that it would be nice if a special edition was put out of Chris voicing the character, especially since he was very nearly finished.

I’ll add the video in this post so you all can hear Chris Farley’s Shrek.
