Note: If you’ve never read Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones, but plan to some day and don’t want things spoiled for you, in my chapter posts there could be spoilers.
“Anyway,” she said with great relief, “Howl doesn’t like me!” – Howl’s Moving Castle
Sophie’s mood isn’t any better. She’s annoyed that Howl went to Wales again after the teacher. And the dog is not really a dog. I won’t say anything else than that. Just know that Sophie gets all the blame for not telling Howl. It’s rather typical of Howl, isn’t it? I won’t say anymore about what happens next so I don’t spoil it.
But Sophie is definitely in a bad mood in this chapter. I think it is probably just a combination of things that is making her angry. Though Howl might be the number one thing, haha 🙂
There is quite a bit explained in this chapter. For one thing, the Witch of the Waste thought Sophie was Lettie, but there is just a lot in this chapter that I don’t want to spoil. The whole chapter Sophie angry, but besides that, it is a very good chapter. Lots of stuff explained. Like Howl has known for a while that Sophie is under a spell. You can’t imagine how mad Sophie was that he has known.
But that’s all I’m going to say about this chapter. Now onto the next one!
