Amazing Libraries

I did some searching on Google to find some amazing libraries. Not only do these libraries house many books, but they are also very beautiful.

The public library of Alexandria, Egypt. This library was built in memorial to the original library of Alexandria. It cost $220 million to build and it was completed in 2002. It is also a cultural center, has art galleries, museums and more. It has over 500,000 books, but enough room to fit 8 million books. Pretty impressive library. I’d love to see it one day.

This library is located in Ulm, Germany. It was founded in 1093 and is even open to the public. You can take guided tours as well. I’d love to visit this one too. It’s so beautiful and colorful.

Abby library of Saint Gall, located in St. Gallen, Switzerland. It is the oldest library in Switzerland and founded by Saint Othmar. It is one of the oldest monastery libraries in the world and has manuscripts from as far back as the 8th century.
